Thibaut Courtois aims Dig At Chelsea
By Joshua Walters
Real Madrid new-boy, Thibaut Courtois, has aimed a dig at his former club, Chelsea, and said ‘the level at Real Madrid is higher than at Chelsea.
The Belgian goalkeeper forced a move from the Stanford Bridge to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer and has since not said anything positive about the London-based club.
In Courtois’ new epistle, reported by Het Nieuwsblad, the goalkeeper, who had his La Liga debut in 4-1 win over Leganes, downgraded the personnel and facilities at Chelsea relative to what he sees at Real Madrid.
"In training, you see that the level is high. “I am now experiencing on a daily basis that Sergio Ramos is the best center-back in the world. The level [at Real Madrid] is higher than at Chelsea.”
"[The Santiago Bernabeu] is twice as big [at Stamford Bridge], of course, it’s a very different feeling. If you look forward you only see a wall of people, while at Stamford Bridge you can still see the sky or the hotel behind the grandstand."
