Sterling’s contract expires in the summer of 2020, and the forward has verbally agreed to extend the deal before it runs out.

Reports from Sky Sports and Daily Mail state that the English international would sign a new five-year deal with the defending Premier League Champions which will earn him £300,000-a-week.

Sterling joined the Etihad outfit in 2015 from Liverpool with a fee of £49million and has played 104 domestic league matches, scoring 35 goals.
