Former RB Leipzig manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has been appointed as the new Southampton boss after the club parted company with Mark Hughes on Monday.
The Saints can boast of just a solitary win from their 14 Premier League games this season, recording six draws and seven defeats which have seen them slump to 18th place on the league log.
Ralph Hasenhuttl guided RB Leipzig to second place in their first season in the German Bundesliga two seasons ago, qualifying them to the UEFA Champions League.
He also led them to the Europa League quarterfinal last season, losing to French side Olympique Marseille.
The 51-year-old Austrian has penned a two-and-a-half year deal and will be supported by first-team assistant coach, Kelvin Davis, who will oversee their clash with Tottenham Hotspurs at Wembley on Wednesday.
“Southampton Football Club can today confirm it has appointed Ralph Hasenhüttl as its new First Team Manager”, an official statement from the club read.
“Hasenhüttl has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year deal with the club and will take over on Thursday.”
“The 51-year-old will be supported by existing First Team Assistant Coach Kelvin Davis, Head of Goalkeeping Dave Watson and Head of Sports Science Alek Gross.
