Solskjaer: Man United Must Be More Entertaining
By Joshua Walters
Manchester United's caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has charged his players to be more entertaining than they were in the first three games of his reign at the club.
Solskjaer led Manchester United to a 4-1 win over Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Sunday, adding to an earlier 5-1 triumph over Cardiff City in the manager's first game at the club before a 3-1 win at home to Huddersfield on Boxing Day.
The former Manchester United player was appointed last week after the sacking of Portuguese trainer Jose Mourinho who did not just lead the Red Devils to their worst Premier League run in history, but also played a defensive style of football which the club’s faithfuls thought was boring and alien to the Old Trafford outfit.
Thanks to the Norwegian, the Red Devils' trademark of free fluid attacking football is gradually coming back with Old Trafford beginning to find its voice again.
But, the trainer, who is on loan from Norwegian side Molde till the end of this season, is no mood to lift his foot off the gas as he tells his players to be more entertaining in the coming games.
"I've just gone about the job as I thought or as I experienced it when I was here as a player and as a young coach", says Solkjiaer.
"We want to go attacking. We have been at home two games now and the crowd, we have to entertain them. We've got good players. I love working with good players."
"I love working with good people. They are good people the players. They want to learn, they want to improve. I just want to do my bit for the months I am here."
Manchester United travel to the St James' Park to face Newcastle next on fixture table, sitting 6th on the league table with 35 points, eight points below the top-four.
