Simeone: Partey Good Enough For Manchester United and Manchester City

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has lavished praises on Ghanaian international Thomas Partey, saying the midfielder is capable of playing for both Manchester United and Manchester City.

The Argentine trainer's assertion comes after the midfielder produced a masterclass performance to inspire Atletico Madrid to a 2-0 victory over Getafe at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.

Partey provided Antoine Griezmann with the assist for Atletico's opener and had a big hand in their second goal as well, and Simeone was all thankful to the 25-year-old.

"I liked Thomas today. He and Rodrigo [Hernandez Cascante] were great," Simeone told reporters.

"I think he's improving, Thomas is an amazing player. He could have played for Manchester City, Manchester United."

"We're talking about a great player here. I rate him very highly."

Atletico Madrid have now gone 18 La Liga games without recording a single defeat, and have moved up to within two points of leaders Barcelona who play away to Girona on Sunday.

Thomas Partey has played 27 times for Atletico Madrid this season, including 18 games in La Liga.

He has scored two goals and provided three assists.
