Seaman Tells Emery To Make Ozil A Regular

By Danny Ward

Arsenal legend, David Seaman, has advised manager Unai Emery to make Mesut Ozil a regular starter in his team regardless of the player’s form.

Seaman believes Ozil's has the ability to influence games and so should be an automatic pick for Emery regardless of performances.

Ozil has had a slow start to the 2018/19 season as he was singled out for blame in Arsenal’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City on the campaign’s opening day and the day-two clash at Chelsea, which the Gunners lost by 3-2.

Emery showed the player, who is Arsenal's highest paid player, is no indispensable by omitting him from the squad in the 3-1 win over West Ham and substituting him for Danny Welbeck in the 3-2 win at Cardiff Cty.

"He's still got great qualities so, for me, he stays in the Arsenal team no problem," said the retired goalkeeper, who spent 13 years and played in 405 matches for Arsenal between 1990 and 2003.

"If you don't play well then you will get singled out. That's the way it is,"

"He doesn't play well in every game. I think a lot of fans expect him to play well in every game when it's impossible.

"He's a quality player, there's no doubt about that. Sometimes people think he doesn't care, but that's just his style. He does care - a lot.”
