Sane Delighted With Giggs Comparison

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane is delighted to attract comparisons to former Manchester United player Ryan Giggs but admits he still has work to do to reach the same standards as the 13-time Premier League winner.
The 2018 PFA Young Player of the year has been in sublime form for the Citizens this season, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists in 21 Premier League games to help Man City to within four points of leaders Liverpool.
Sane is well on course to surpass his tally of 10 league goals last season despite the disappointment of missing out on Germany’s 23-man squad for the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Some pundits of the game believe that Sane has identical talent to Ryan Gigss, and the player is wooed by the comparison though he insists he has more to do get to that level.
The German said: “Comparing him to me - I can’t do it at all!
“If you see the kind of player he was, he’s a legend for Manchester United and the Premier League."
“How he played was special and how many titles he won, I’m not nearly there!"
“Obviously I’m pleased that people do it because it means I’m doing some things well and I’m really happy about it.”
Manchester City travel to the Sports Direct Arena on Tuesday to take on Newcastle United with the hope to cut Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table to one point as the leaders are not in action until Wednesday, and Sane is enjoying the cat-and-mouse chase in the race for the title.
“I think it’s kind of more enjoyable because it motivates you to say we want to be first, we can put pressure on them and it makes you want to work harder, Sane added.
“Liverpool have a lot of players with a lot of experience. Even last season, they reached the Champions League final so they know how to do it.
“We all know what we did last season, we’re still doing it this season and we all know exactly what we have to do and that’s the important thing.”
