Referee Michael Oliver Oversees Incredibly Rare Treble

English Premier League Referee Michael Oliver  seems to be the man for an avalanche of goals in the premiership these days as he accomplished an incredibly rare feat on Saturday after taking charge of Liverpool’s demolition of Arsenal.

The result marked the third consecutive game  Michael Oliver has officiated which has ended in a 5-1 triumph for one of the sides.

Oliver’s feat began when he officiated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first game in charge of Manchester United  against Cardiff City last weekend. 

The game ended in a comfortable 5-1 victory for the Red Devils to kickstart Solskjaer’s reign in grand style.

Michael Oliver was once again the man in the middle when Everton tore apart Burnley  5-1 at  Turf Moor on Boxing Day.

The 35-year-old, who officiated the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup Final, was again the man with the whistle when Roberto Firmino’s hat-trick inspired Liverpool to a 5-1 victory over Arsenal on Saturday.

That makes it three 5-1’s in a row for Michael Oliver .

Michael Oliver courted controversy in the semi-final second leg of the Uefa Champions League last season by awarding  Real Madrid a debatable late penalty at the Santiago Bernabeu  after Juventus had managed to claw back a three goal deficit suffered in the first leg.
