Nemanja Matic Warns City Ahead Of Manchester Derby
By Joshua Walters
Manchester United's Nemanja Matic has warned their city rivals Manchester City ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash at the Etihad Stadium.
The Serbian midfielder believes his side is capable of winning the match day-twelve game, though their rivals perform better and are well placed on the league log.
Adding to that impetus is their manager, Jose Mourinho, who Matic says knows exactly how to win matches of that nature.
The two Manchester clubs meet at the Etihad Stadium in day-twelve of the Premier League in a match for both pride and points.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are yet to lose a game this season and lead the log with 29 points.
Manchester United are 7th with 20 points, and go into the fixture, having improved in both performance and results in recent games; a feat which has been enhanced by the 2-1 win at Juventus in the Champions League on Wednesday.
”They are a very good side and they play good football. They score a lot of goals in every game, but we also have our qualities which we have to use."
“We have to stop them in their attacks, there is a way to do it and the manager knows that."
"We will prepare for the game. I expect a hard game but, in a derby, everything is possible, and we will be ready for that.”
“I think that we believe more that we are a good team, we have also improved and mentally we are stronger,”
“I think in the last four league games we have three wins and a draw, so this gives you more confidence, but we deserve that and will try to continue in this way.”
