Mbappe Unhappy With Football Monetisation

Kylian Mbappe has described the amount of money in football as indecent but says he will not lead a crusade to revolutionise the 'system'.

The 19-year-old Paris Saint-Germain prodigy burst to prominence at Monaco and has become even bigger both on and off the field after his £157 million to PSG, having initially joined the club in 2017 on a year-long loan.

The football transfer market has seen some astronomical purchases in recent years.

PSG paid £198 million to secure Neymar from Barcelona in 2017 in a transfer market that cost Liverpool and Chelsea £60 million and £70 million to sign goalkeepers Allison Becker and Kepa Ariazabalaga from AS Roma and Sevilla respectively.

"It's truly indecent for me, who comes from a fairly modest family," Mbappe said to RTS. "It's true that it's indecent but the market is like that. The world of football works like that. I'm not going to revolutionise football. I'm in a system. You have to know how to respect it and to stay in place."
