Matip Out For Six Weeks

By Joshua Walters
Liverpool's centre back, Joel Matip, has suffered a fractured collarbone which could keep him out of action for about six weeks.

The former Schalke 04 defender sustained the injury in the Champions League fixture against Napoli on Tuesday night.

Matip helped his side to clinch a 1-0 win over the Italians at Anfield to progress to the knockout stage of the competition.

A scan conducted on the Cameroonian national, after the game, proved he has fractured the collarbone; a defect that he would need a surgery to correct.

Matip's time on the sidelines will see him miss Liverpool's rivalry clash against Manchester United on Saturday as well as the new year fixtures.
