Marco Reus Names The Best Player He

Borussia Dortmund skipper, Marco Reus, has bemoaned Mesut Ozil’s retirement from the German national team, describing his former teammate as the best player he has played with.
Ozil brought his nine-year association with the Die Mannschaft to a controversial end after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, citing discrimination and disrespect from the German Football Association and German media as his reasons.
Ozil, who won the World Cup in 2014, has struggled for consistency in Unai Emery’s Arsenal set-up this season but the former Werder Bremen midfielder put in a man-of the-match performance when called upon in a 2-0 victory against Newcastle United on Monday.
Reus has played with the likes of Toni Kroos, Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Miroslav Klose in his career, but the former Borussia Monchengladbach forward has picked out Ozil as his stand-out teammate.
"Mesut Ozil," Reus told Copa 90 when quizzed on the best player he has played with. "The way he creates goals... he's a player with a really good eye for his team-mates. He has so many assists in the Premier League and with the national team.
"He's just an intelligent player and you can see that right away with a first glance. I always enjoyed playing with him and that's why it's a pity he's taken a step back. I hope he'll get back to form and return to playing regularly for Arsenal."
Reus will be hoping to lead Borussia Dortmund to the Bundesliga title for the first time in six seasons as they currently hold a two-point advantage over Bayern Munich ahead of their top-of-the-table clash with the Bavarians this weekend.
