Manchester United Draw 2-2 At Chelsea

Rose Barkley snatched a late point for Chelsea in a dramatic 2-2 draw against Manchester United at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Chelsea drew first blood through Antonio Rudiger ‘s header in the 21st minute, and Anthony Martial led the Red Devils to a second straight comeback with a brace in the 55th and 75th minutes before Barkley equalised for the Blues six minutes into injury time.

Maurizio Sarri’s side is still unbeaten after match day-nine and sits top of the Premier League table with 21 points, but could be overtaken by second-placed, Manchester City, who host Burnley at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Jose Mourino’s side, who came close to beating Chelsea for the first time in six seasons but missed, is also 8th on the table with 14 points, seven points adrift the top.

Nemanja Matic went into referee Mike Dean’s book with a yellow card in the 13th minute, and Romelu Lukaku missed a great opportunity in the 18th minute when he jumped for a cross but sailed his header well wide of the left post.

Willian sent a fine cross from a corner kick and found Antonio Rudiger, who powered a bullet header from around the penalty spot into the left side of the goal.

Ashley Young received the yellow card after a bad foul on Eden Hazard, Antonio Rudiger followed up with Chelsea’s first booking for a foul on Juan Mata, before Eden Hazard collected another yellow card for Chelsea in the 34th minute.

Anthony Martial drew parity for the visitors in the 55th minute when he appeared at the right place at the right time to get to a rebound inside the box before gleefully rifling the ball into the left side of the goal.

David Luiz headed just wide in the 61st minute, Juan Mata picked up the yellow card in the 67th minute and N'Golo Kante latched on to a pass on the edge of the box in the 74th minute but shot into the hands of David De Gea.

Marcus Rashford teed up Anthony Martial on the edge of the box, and the Manchester United wing-back fired the ball into the bottom right corner to give the visitors a deserving lead in the 73rd minute.

Substitute Alexis Sanchez received a booking four minutes into injury time, Andreas Pereira followed suit a minute later, sixty seconds, after which David Luiz connected with a cross near the penalty spot but produced a header into the upright.

Antonio Rudiger managed to meet a rebound and sent in a nice header from close range, but his effort was thwarted by De Gea, and substitute Rose Barkley fired the rebound into the net.
