Lukaku Eyes Juventus Move
By Joshua Walters
Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku has hinted of his desire to play in the Italian Serie A and says Juventus would be his preferred destination if a move comes on.
The Belgian striker tells Gazzetta dello Sport he fancies the make-up of the Italian giants, saying Massimiliano Allegri’s team has a project that he would like to be a part of.
Lukaku has had a slow start to the season with four goals out of eight Premier League games and none in the Champions League.
Lukaku’s performance has been a subject of scrutiny, and Manchester United fans are divided on his quality and whether or not he is up to the club’s standard.
Lukaku scored a brace as Belgium beat Switzerland 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League, and he told the sports paper, in a post match interview, of his love for Juventus.
Lukaku was asked by the paper if he would be open to a move to the Serie A, and he replied: “Why not? I hope it happens.”
“Juve have a great project in place and they just keep going. Every year they try to get stronger. Without a doubt, Juve are one of the two-three best teams in Europe.”
