Luis Enrique Denies Favoring Madrid Players

Spain coach, Luis Enrique, has denied allegations he prefers Real Madrid players to Barcelona's, and says he does not consider club affiliations when selecting players into the national team.
The former Barcelona manager led Spain to a 6-0 win over 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday with a starting-XI that had six players from Real Madrid and just one from Barcelona.
Enrique was accused of not playing more Barcelona players during the post-match press conference, an assertion which he refuted.
"I did not know or care," he said. "They belong to the Spanish national team, nothing more.
"They are not from one team or another. I only see a shirt, that of the national team."
"The attitude of all the players has been very good," Luis Enrique added.
The win over Croatia comes days after a 2-1 triumph over England at the Wembley Stadium, and Enrique commended his players for their fine form in the competition.
"It is difficult to criticise anything in a match that saw such a high level of performance. I have nothing to object against, I liked almost everything I saw."
