Joe Gomez Commits Future To Liverpool
By Joshua Walters
Joe Gomez has extended his stay with Liverpool with a new contract that will see him at the Anfield club until 2024.
The England defender's new contract replaces his current deal, which he signed in January this year.
Joe Gomez joined Liverpool from Charlton Athletic in 2015 for £3.5m and has gone on to play forty-one Premier League games with the club but is yet to score a goal.
The former Charlton player is nursing an injury which will see him on the sidelines for at least six weeks.
The 21-year old defender has been an instrumental figure in Liverpool’s best ever start to a Premier League this season, which has earned them an unbeaten run in the league thus far.
Gomez expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the club after signing the deal and reiterated his desire to help push the team forward.
“Signing this new deal means the world to me," Gomez told the club’s official website.
“I’ve been at the club a few years now and have had the pleasure to play for Liverpool and experience what that means, so I am delighted to get the chance to extend my contract here."
“I love the club, I love playing and learning here, and I am happy for that to continue.”
