Klopp Blames Everton Draw On Bad Weather

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has attributed his side's goalless draw with Everton on Sunday to poor weather conditions.

Liverpool enjoyed possession and created some decent chances, but failed to find the back of the net as they dropped points against their crosstown rivals at the Goodison Park in the Merseyside Derby.

The results drop Liverpool from the top of the Premier League with 70 points as their title contenders, Manchester City, leapfrogged them with just one point, and Klopp put their inability to win down on the weather.

"The wind does not help and there was a lot today. We had five or six big chances but Jordan Pickford or a defender was in between.

"I don't think they had a real chance.

Not perfect, but good enough. Getting a point from Everton is always a success because it is our most difficult away game of the season.

"Who wants to be top of the table at the beginning of March? It is nice but there are lots of games to play."

Klopp told reporters the hunt for the title as there are nine more games to play, before sounding furious to a question asked by one of the reporters.

"There are nine games to go, we don't lose our nerve like you obviously. It's the second time you ask a question I really don't get.

"There's not a moment where we say, 'Come on now, throw everything in that direction'. You cannot play in the Premier League like that.

"We take all the risks but you cannot take more than 100 per cent risk, going nuts.

Sunday's result has further increased Liverpool's difficulty in winning their first Premier League title in 29 years, but Klopp insisted he does not need to tell his players to calm their nerves because they are professionals and knows what to do.

"I don't think I have to give my players advice because they know it already. We are not little boys anymore."
