Hazard Leaves His Chelsea Future Uncertain
By Joshua Walters
Eden Hazard says his Chelsea future is still open as he is still undecided on whether or not he will remain at Stamford Bridge next season.
The Belgium national team captain scored Chelsea's last penalty as the Blues beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-3 on penalties to book a Europa League final date with London rivals Arsenal.
Questions about the player's future flew from the media at the post-match presser, but the Chelsea player was candid as he told the reporters he does not 'know yet'.
"I don't think that. I'm only thinking to win something for this club, for this squad.
"If it's my last game I will try to do everything, if it's not we will see. In my mind I don't know yet, I'm just thinking to win games and that's it.
"Today I score, we won, I'm happy, the boys are happy, the fans are happy."
Hazard has refused to extend his Chelsea contract despite interests drawing from several top clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid.
With his Chelsea deal set to expire in 2020, Chelsea have been making frantic efforts to pin down the player, but to no avail.
Making it even more difficult for Chelsea to let go of the 28-year-old player is the latter's invaluable contribution to the club and the fact his absence would leave a void in the side.
Hazard has recorded recording 85 goals and 54 assists in the Premier League for Chelsea since his arrival from French side, Lille in 2012.
The versatile offensive player has been phenomenal for Chelsea this season, having involved in 31 goals (16 goals, 15 assists) in the Premier League to push the Blues into the top-four and also the finals of the Carabao Cup which they lost to league leaders, Manchester City.
Hazard has effectively proven his gut against the top clubs both at home and abroad as he also guided the Red Devils of Belgium to third place at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
