Guide To Predicting On Newcastle-Manchester Game

By Joshua Walters

Newcastle United and Manchester United hold each other to the sword in a Premier League tie at the St James’ Park in a tricky duel on Wednesday night.

Newcastle United, just like Manchester United, had a poor start to the season and both sides looked destined for the worst run until they both began to see some levels of turnarounds.

The Magpies returned into the Premier League and started the season indifferently from the run that led them out of top England’s top flight league a season earlier.

Predictors, who, from the start of the season, were skeptical about Newcastle United’s performance and saw the current side as equal to the one that was relegated two seasons ago, have, for most part of this season, had it right predicting that the side would drop points in the games played so far.

It took Newcastle United 11 games to record a win after drawing thrice and losing seven times in the opening ten games of the season.

Raphael Benitez’s side has registered three more wins in the ensuing ten games, recording four defeats and three draws.

Their opponent, Manchester United, to some extent, as they recorded just seven wins, five defeats, and as many draws in the opening 17 games under former Portuguese trainer Jose Mourinho.

Despite Newcastle United mustering just two wins in ten home games with a goal record of seven for and 15 against, members on Predictionboard.com would have been right to choose the former to either draw or beat the latter if this game was to be played about three weeks ago.

Leading more credence to this is Manchester United’s away record. The Red Devils have won just four games on the road, lost as many numbers of games and drew twice.

This is even aside from the reality that the Red Devils have won just twice, drew once and lost once in their last five games against Newcastle United at the St. James Park.

But, things have changed at the club and the Old Trafford club, who hitherto looked disillusioned, ordinary and confident-suspect under Mourinho, has now found their spark following the sacking of the Portuguese and appointment of club legend Ole Gunner Solksjaer about three weeks ago.

Manchester United are not just playing better in the three games played under the new caretaker manager but also scoring more goals and conceding just a few.

The Red Devils have mustered a 5-1 win over Cardiff City, 3-1 triumph over Huddersfield aside beating Burnley 4-1 in the last round of games to become the 5th best scoring club in the league this season.

With Manchester United’s new found rampancy upfront, it would be safe to say that members on PredictionBoard.com can get it right by predicting that they will score the first goal of the encounter.

One area of where members on PredictionBoard.com cannot also overlook is that the Red Devils boost of a much higher player quality than the Magpies and with Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and the others giving the incline of a good form, Newcastle’s dangermen Salomon Rondon and Kennedy may go through the game unnoticed.
