Ex-Spurs Striker Mido Sacked As Manager For Insulting Fan

Former Tottenham Hotspurs striker Hossam Ahmed Mido has been sacked as manager of Saudi Arabian club Al Wehda after he insulted a fan, who called on him to resign on social media.
The 36-year-old former Egyptian striker has maintained his innocence, claiming that his account was hacked and has since deleted the tweet.
Mido was appointed as Al-Wehda manager in December 2018, but leaves the side after less than four months in charge, with his last game being a 4-0 drubbing in the hands of rivals Al Nassr that leaves them 6th on the league log.
'Please, resign from your rule as Al Wehda coach, we understand your coaching style, but it is not helpful, it is better for you to be a pundit, your words are good, but as coach you are not so good,' wrote the fan on Twitter.
Mido did not take kindly to the fan’s assertion and allegedly dished out an insult considered vile in Saudi Arabia which read: 'P**** of your aunt’s mother'.
Wehda Vice-President Abdallah Khokair explained: "Mido has not been sacked for tactical reasons, but because of a tweet he posted on his official account.
"The fans are a red line, and we hope that his account was hacked, but tactical-wise, Mido's stint was special.
"Mido has made the league more competitive by drawing with Al Hilal and losing to Al Nassr. We also managed to beat Al Ahli and pick up many points during his time at the club."
“I respect the decision of the board, but my account was hacked and I’m going to use all my legal tools to prove it,” Mido stated following his dismissal.
Mido played for the likes of Tottenham Hotspurs, AS Roma, Ajax Amsterdam and Olympique Marseille during his career.
Mido made 51 appearances for the Egyptian national team, scoring 20 goals and was famously banished from the 2006 African Cup of Nations by the Pharaohs after he confronted his manager Hassan Shehata on the touchline for being substituted in the semi-final win over Senegal.
