Costa Shouts At Griezmann: "I'm your teammate!"
By Nigel Philips
Pictures have emerged of Diego Costa speaking angrily to his teammate Antoine Griezmann during Atletico Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.
Diego Costa had a bust-up with Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti in the second half of the La Liga game, and Griezmann, who chanced on the pair to separate them, appeared protective of the former than the latter.
The Spaniard did not take kindly to it, and Costa walked to Griezmann and was pictured pointing a finger at the forward, who looked bemused, and appeared to be acting innocent.
Sound clips reportedly captured by Spanish broadcasters, Movistar TV, claim that Costa shouted at Griezmann and said: "I'm your teammate!"
Griezmann and Umtiti are teammates in the France national team and were instrumental in Les Blues’ march to the Russia 2018 World Cup title.
Griezmann and Costa, however, patched up as the former set up the latter to score the game’s opener for Atletico Madrid in the 77th minute.
The two celebrated the goal with a warm embrace, but that lead was canceled late in the game by another Frenchman, Ousmane Dembele.
