Azpilicueta Signs Four-Year Contract Extension With Chelsea

Cesar Azpilicueta has penned a new four year deal at Chelsea, extending his stay at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2022.
The 29-year-old Spaniard has been one of the Blues’ dependable performers since arriving from Olympique Marseille for £7m, shortly after Chelsea were crowned European Champions in 2012.
A right-back by trade, Azpilicueta has proven his versatility in recent seasons, flourishing in a left-back position, after being deployed there by Jose Mourinho as well as Antonio Conte’s back three formation
Azpilicueta has made a total of 298 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea, and has been skippering the London side this season in the absence of the out-of-favour, Gary Cahill.
"I am really happy to extend my stay here at Chelsea," the Osasuna youth product told Chelsea's official website.
"Since I came, I felt the joy and responsibility to play for this club, these fans, and every time I go on the pitch I try to do my best."
"Hopefully, there is a lot to come and we can keep Chelsea where it belongs."
Azpilicueta has won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and one Europa League in his time with the Blues.
