Van Der Vaart Tips Isco As Best Player In The World

Former Real Madrid player Rafael van der Vaart has disclosed that out of favour Isco is currently the best player in the world.

Van Der Vaart said in an interview that Isco's qualities make him the best player in the world among other players.

Isco has been struggling for a first-team place under new manager Santiago Solari though he was a key figure under former manager Julen Lopetegui who was sacked for non-performance.

The Spanish midfielder has played 13 La Liga games under Solari with most of them coming on as a substitute and has scored just a goal.

He has featured in three Copa del Rey games and played four matches for the White Angels in the Champions League with one goal.

"It's crazy for me, he is the best player in the world," Van der Vaart told Marca.

"But, he always has problems with coaches and even [Zinedine] Zidane never trusted him 100 percent.

"When I go to watch Madrid I'll see if he starts and if not, I'm going home."

Isco joined Real Madrid from Malaga in a five-year deal in 2013 for a fee of €30 million and walked straight into Los Blacos' first team and was part of the squad that won the three consecutive Champions League titles for the club.
