Van Dijk Wary Of Wounded Man Utd Ahead Of Old Trafford Clash
Virgil Van Dijk has warned Liverpool to be wary of Manchester United ahead of the two teams meeting at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday.
The two sides are winless from their opening two games, with the Red Devils suffering embarrassing defeats to Brighton and Hove Albion and Brentford, while Liverpool could only take a point each off Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Old Trafford has been a tricky ground for Liverpool in recent years but Jurgen Klopp's side have posted 4-2 and 5-0 victories in their last two top flight visits.
United are bottom of the Premier League as things stand but Van Dijk is not taking them for granted.
"It's massive, but it's not about making a statement. We want to win and do everything that's possible to win there," Van Dijk said.
"This year they've had a difficult start and we've not had the best start that we wanted either, so it will be interesting.
"Obviously they're not in the best situation confidence-wise probably, but it's the perfect game to turn it around for them."
"Over the years it’s proven tough for us to win there, though last year was a great result, we can't deny it."
"This week we showed a lot of good spirit and fight in training, and we've got to bring that to the game on Monday."
