Son became Asia's first Premier League golden boot winner when his 23 goals helped Tottenham Hotspurs achieve a top four finish and qualify for the Champions League.

Mohamed Salah, who also scored 23 goals has been nominated alongside teammates Virgil Van Dijk and Sadio Mane.

Kevin De Bruyne, who has won the award for the last two seasons has once again been picked while Ronaldo and Harry Kane complete the shortlist.

In his first season back in England, Ronaldo proved to be a shining light in an otherwise dull campaign for Manchester United, who ended the campaign in sixth position. The 37-year-old ended the season with 18 goals and three assists from 30 appearances.

Van Dijk proved to be a rock at the back for a Liverpool side who conceded only 26 goals. The Netherlands skipper also chipped in with three goals and an assist.

Following a failed move to Manchester City, Kane recovered from a slow start to the season to score 17 goals and assist nine times for Antonio Conte's side.

He might be on his way out of Liverpool but Mane proved his worth once again in Jurgen Klopp's team, scoring 16 goals and adding two assists.

Alongside with his 23 goals, Salah also provided the most assists in the division with 13.

De Bruyne enjoyed his best ever scoring season in the top flight with 15 strikes and provided a joint club-high eight assists.

The winner of the award will be announced on June 9.
