Scholes Recommends Ndidi For Manchester United
Paul Scholes has recommended Wilfried Ndidi for Manchester United ahead of this summer's transfer window.
The Red Devils are losing a host of players, particularly in midfield, as free agents at the end of this month, with the likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard all departing Old Trafford.
Ndidi has been a consistent performer for Leicester City since joining from Genk in the summer of 2017, helping the Foxes win the FA Cup in the 2020/2021 season.
Scholes is a keen admirer of Ndidi's talents and has urged his former club to take a chance on the Nigeria international.
“Leicester’s Wilfred [Ndidi] still very much fits the bill of what Man United are looking for, and with just two years remaining on his contract at Leicester, it’s likely to cost significantly less than the eye-watering sums associated with him in summer past,” the 47-year-old Scholes told Football Daily YouTube channel as quoted by the Punch.
“And while he missed the last two months of the season with a knee injury, he remains one of the best defensive midfielders in the game when fit, averaging an astounding 6.5 tackles and interceptions each match and ranking in the top seven per cent of midfielders for aerial duels, too.”
Ndidi made 31 appearances in all competitions for Leicester this season, scoring two goals but saw his campaign end in early March after a knee injury.
