Ronaldo Shares Tears As He Discusses Late Father
Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo could not hold back his tears as he discusses his late father with Piers Morgan.
In an interview yet to be aired on Tuesday night on ITV, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner got emotional when host Piers Morgan asked him about the main reason that gets him sad anytime he talks of his late father.
And replying to the question, Ronaldo who could not hide his emotions was quoted saying;
“I really don’t know my father 100 per cent. He was a drunk person. I never spoke with him, like a normal conversation. It was hard."
Having been denied a father’s love to a son, Ronaldo insisted he was amazed when his father had an interview which he discussed him with pride ahead of Euro 2004 when he was alive, wishing the late Dinis had lived to see his success.
“To be the number one and he don’t see nothing, and he don’t see to receive awards, to see what I became.”
After stressing on the inflicted pains on him by his late father, Ronaldo also opened up on his relationship with his current girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez, revealing plans to marry her in the near future.
"We'll be (married) one day, for sure.
"It's my mum's dream as well. So, one day. Why not?"
Ronaldo’s father, Dinis died in 2005 at age 52 when his son became great as he is now.
Scoring 21 goals last term for Juventus in the Serie A, the former Real Madrid striker has just one goal to his tally after three games this season.
