Rodgers Dismisses Links To Tottenham Hotspurs Job
Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has dismissed links to the Tottenham Hotspurs manager job.
Tottenham are in the hunt for a new man in the dugouts after dismissing Jose Mourinho on Monday.
The Lilywhites have placed former player Ryan Mason in temporary charge of the club until the end of the season and have begun the process of recruiting a new manager for next season.
Rodgers has been installed as one of the bookmakers’ favorites to replace Mourinho in North London but the Foxes manager says he is solely focused on his work at the King Power Stadium.
Quizzed on the Spurs speculation on Tuesday, Rodgers said: “It’s football, there is always speculation around, every job which comes up there will always be different managers speculated to go in.
“Tottenham is a fantastic club, it’s a huge club but my focus is here. I’m at a world-class training facility, the project we’re in here we still want to develop and have a lot of work to do.
“I have a great connection with the players, the board and we have plans to keep progressing.
“While I have the energy, the happiness and see that challenge continuing I’m very happy to be here. You can’t stop gossip but I don’t think about it.”
Rodgers has been in charge of Leicester City since February 2019 and has led them to their first FA Cup final in 52 years after seeing off Southampton on Sunday.
Leicester City are currently third on the Premier League table and are primed to secure Champions League football for next season.
