Real Madrid Loan Kubo To Getafe For Rest Of Season
Real Madrid have sent Takefusa Kubo on loan at Getafe for the rest of the season after cutting short his temporary stay at Villarreal.
Kubo spent the first half of the season with the Yellow Submarines, making 19 appearances across all competitions and scoring one goal.
A chunk of Kubo’s appearances however came from the bench and after growing frustrated with the situation, asked manager Unai Emery for a change of clubs.
The 19-year-old Japan international has had his wish granted after parent club Real Madrid struck a deal with Getafe to send him to the Coliseum Alfonso Perez for the remainder of the 2020/2021 season.
A statement from the Blancos read: “Real Madrid and Getafe have agreed the loan of Takefusa Kubo until the end of the season.”
Getafe find themselves in 16th position on the Spanish La Liga table, just one point above the relegation zone and will be hoping Kubo provides them with some much needed inspiration to pull clear of trouble.
Kubo had a more fruitful spell on loan at relegated Real Mallorca last season, scoring four goals and providing four assists in 34 top flight games.
Getafe play away to Elche on Sunday before hosting bottom club Huesca on Wednesday.
Kubo has been capped 11 times by the Japan national team.
