Pogba Opens Up On Fractious Mourinho Relationship
Paul Pogba has given a little insight into how his relationship with former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho turned sour.
It was Mourinho who made Pogba the-then world's most expensive footballer when he priced him away from Juventus for £89m in the summer of 2016.
The pair started on a bright note at Old Trafford, winning the League Cup and Europa League in their first season together but their relationship broke down in Mourinho's final season at the club.
The Portuguese stripped Pogba of the club's vice captaincy before getting sacked in December 2018.
Pogba has since left Old Trafford this summer after the expiration of his contract and is poised to rejoin Juventus.
The France world cup winner has opened up on how Mourinho doubting his injury started their fractious relationship.
Speaking in his new Amazon Prime documentary, Pogba has said of the moment that Mourinho began to incur his wrath: “It started when I got injured. I said I was going to Miami to do rehabilitation.
“A paparazzi took a photo of Zulay [Pogba’s wife] and me. Jose sent the picture to Mino [Raiola]. I didn’t like that at all. He said he’s on holiday when we are working like [expletive].
“I told Mourinho are you serious? I’m injured. I train three times a day here. Who do you think I am? It was new to me to have an issue with my coach.”
