Pochettino Relishing Special Return To Tottenham Hotspurs
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino is relishing a special return to Tottenham Hotspurs on Monday.
Spurs will be hosting Chelsea in the Premier League.
The game marks the first time Pochettino will be returning to Tottenham Hotspurs since leaving the club four years ago.
Pochettino was in charge of Spurs for five seasons, finishing second in the Premier League in 2017 and reaching the UEFA Champions League final in 2019, losing to Liverpool.
"For me, it will be a happy day," Pochettino, 51, said on Friday.
"We are professional but at the same time we are human and we feel.
"It's really special to go back to a place where we created amazing memories together. It's special, I'm not going to lie. That is true.
"When we left the club it was a difficult moment but now I have the opportunity to come back and see many people who are still working there. It will be an exciting moment."
While Chelsea are languishing in the bottom half of the table, Tottenham are unbeaten under Ange Postecoglou and top of the pile.
Pochettino believes his old side can go all the way this season.
“Ange and the coaching staff, they are doing a fantastic job and then of course very good players, very good team. You can feel they can be a contender," the Argentine added.
“Of course it’s early in the season but they are showing the quality to be contenders.”
