Percy Tau Joins Anderlecht On Loan From Brighton
South African international Percy Tau has joined Belgium giants Anderlecht from Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion on a season-long loan deal.
This will be Tau’s third straight loan stint in Belgium after spending the last two seasons on temporary spells at Royal Union Saint-Gillioise and Club Brugge.
Last season, the former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker made 30 appearances in all competitions for eventual champions Club Brugge, scoring four goals.
Anderlecht finished eighth in the Belgium top flight last season, and Tau is determined to return Vincent Kompany’s men to the upper echelons of the division.
"I am part of a team that always wants to play good and attacking football. That suits me perfectly,” Tau said after completing the move.
“RSCA plays my style of football. We are made for each other. I will do everything I can to contribute to this team and guide the club back to where it belongs: to the top of Belgian football."
"Percy is a player who already knows our capital and the league," Anderlecht sporting director Peter Verbeke told the club's website.
"He is a creative, technically strong, fast and agile player, he can play in various attacking positions.
"In addition, he has already demonstrated that he can be efficient and decisive. Due to a lack of preparation, we just have to give him some time to be important for us, but we are of course happy with his added value to our squad," he concluded.
Tau has won 24 caps for Bafana Bafana, with nine goals to his credit in national team colours.
