Neymar Extends PSG Contract Until 2025
Paris Saint Germain superstar Neymar has signed a new contract to remain at the club until the summer of 2025.
Neymar’s new contract puts to bed any doubts over his long-term future in the French capital, having been linked with a return to Barcelona in recent seasons.
The 29-year-old Brazilian international joined PSG from the Blaugrana in the summer of 2017 for a world record €222m and has won three league titles and a host of other domestic honours in his time at the club.
However, having lost last season’s Champions League final to Bayern Munich and bowed out at the semi-final stage to Manchester City this term, Neymar is yet to taste European glory with PSG.
“I’m very happy, very happy to be extending my contract with Paris until 2025,” Neymar said on PSG’s official website.
“The truth is that I’m very happy to be staying here for four more years, to be a part of the club’s project, to try and win titles, to try and achieve our biggest dream which is the Champions League. So I’m happy to be staying at the club, to be a part of it and to be extending my contract.”
“My goal when I came [here] was to help get Paris Saint-Germain to the top, among the very best, and we are getting close,” he added.
“We are gaining more and more experience to help us negotiate these types of games, to know how to play in the Champions League. And Paris is on the right track, we are getting closer and closer to the taste of winning the Champions League. I’m sure we can do it.”
Neymar has made 112 appearances for PSG to date, scoring 85 goals and providing 51 assists.
