MLS Nothing Without Me – Ibrahimovic
LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says interest in America’s Major League Soccer will wane if he decides to leave.
The 38-year-old played what might be his last game in the United States in LA Galaxy’s 5-3 defeat to their bitter rivals Los Angeles FC on Friday.
Former Arsenal forward, Carlos Vela struck twice for the hosts in the first half, and LA Galaxy fought back through Ibrahimovic, but a late double from Adama Diomande secured LA FC's victory.
Ibrahimovic has been in good form for Galaxy, scoring 30 goals in this regular-season, a tally only bettered by LAFC’s Vela.
The former Inter Milan and Juventus man, made an obscene gesture by grabbing his cojones to the angry supporters of Los Angeles FC after the game.
"They said something," Ibrahimovic said after the defeat to Los Angeles FC.
"Not being disrespectful, but this is like training for me. The stadium is too small for me. I am used to playing in front of 80,000. This is a walk in the park."
The veteran striker was asked about his future after playing what may be his last game for LA Galaxy.
And he said: "What happens next year? I don't know”
"If I stay it will be good for MLS because the whole world will watch it. If I do not stay, nobody will remember what MLS is."
Ibrahimovic has been linked with a return back to Europe as his deal with LA Galaxy comes to an end in December.
