Mane Backs Thiago To Elevate Liverpool To Another Level

Thiago swapped the European champions for the red side of Merseyside last week and quickly impressed on his debut against Chelsea despite conceding a second half penalty which was missed.

Mane proved to be Liverpool’s hero that day, scoring a brace to help Jurgen Klopp’s men enjoy back-to-back victories in their defence of the title.

The Reds won the Champions League in Madrid last year and cemented their place as the top side in England by being crowned champions last year, finishing 18 points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City.

Mane is hoping the arrival of Thiago as well as summer signings Kostas Tsimikas and Diogo Jota will help Jurgen Klopp’s men maintain their high standards.

"I think not only the fans are excited to see Thiago," he told the club's official website.

"For sure, especially me and my team-mates were really happy to have this kind of quality in our squad. It only makes us better.

"I can see from day one in training and the game against Chelsea what he is doing. And I'm sure he will take us to another level, for sure.

"And we're looking forward to seeing Kostas and Diogo Jota as well, who is a really good signing for us. I'm really happy to have him as well.

Liverpool will hope to win three games on the bounce when they meet Arsenal in the league on Monday. The two sides will square off once again in the Carabao Cup fourth round three days later.
