Maguire Earns Rare Praise From Ten Hag After Win Over Sheffield Utd
Harry Maguire has earned rare praise from Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag following his man-of-the-match performance against Sheffield United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Red Devils earned a crucial 2-1 win over the Blades at their own backyard thanks to goals from Scott McTominay and Diogo Dalot.
It was a game that was preceded by the sad news that Manchester United great Sir Bobby Charlton had passed on in the early hours of Saturday.
It has been a difficult few months for Maguire, who lost the Manchester United captaincy and his place in Ten Hag's starting eleven.
He was making only his second start of the season against his former club at Brammal Lane, and Ten Hag was impressed with what he saw.
“I have to say Harry is playing like we want him to play,” Ten Hag said.
“Very proactive out of possession, dominating his opponent, stepping in when necessary, reading the game, good covering but also in possession very proactive, stepping in, delivering good passes, switching, yes, I am happy with his performance.”
Manchester United climbed to eighth on the league table with their win over Sheffield United.
