Leonardo: Neymar's Move To Barcelona Not Done
Leonardo, Paris Saint-Germain sporting director has disclosed Neymar's potential return to Barcelona is still in talks, stressing no agreement has been reached as it is reported by several news outlets.
Since departing Barcelona, Neymar has also been linked with a return to his former side Barcelona and the speculations seem to be generating grounds this time around.
The 27-year-old, who has spent two years at the Parc de Princes is eager of re-joining the Catalan giants and has since not featured for the Parisians in the new Ligue 1 season.
In 2017, Neymar completed a shocking world-record move of €222 million from Barcelona to PSG, but a move away from the side could be on the cards after the LaLiga champions have reportedly made countless efforts to re-sign the versatile winger to bolster their attacking department.
Sharing more light on the much-anticipated transfer of the summer, Leonardo, after PSG's 2-0 Ligue 1 win over Metz on Friday said;
“The negotiations aren't dead but there is no agreement because our requests haven't been accepted," he told reporters.
"We are open to talking about players, but there is no agreement.
"The position of PSG and Neymar has always been clear, if a satisfactory offer arrived then he could leave, but that is not the case."
Upon several reports indicating Barcelona have offered PSG player-plus-cash offer to secure the services of Neymar, Leonardo debunked those claims as he insisted an official offer from Barcelona for their star forward was received days ago, however, failed to confirm when the deal would be materialised.
“The first written proposal of Barca was on August 27," he said.
“I don't know. It depends on Barcelona.”
