Leeds United To Turn Deaf Ears For Raphinha Offers
Leeds United say they are not prepared to listen to offers for in-demand Brazilian winger Raphinha.
Raphinha joined the Whites from French Ligue 1 side Rennes last summer for £17m and has made 22 appearances in the Premier League, scoring five goals and providing five assists.
The 24-year-old’s impressive performances for Marcelo Bielsa’s men down the wings has reportedly courted attention from some of England’s big clubs, including Manchester United.
Leeds have been made aware of the rumours surrounding Raphinha but sporting director Victor Orta is adamant news surrounding the former Sporting Lisbon man are just intended to generate traffic for portals.
“To be clear, we have not had any approach for Raphinha and we would not welcome one,” Orta told BBC Radio Leeds.
“It is for clickbait to create business for the websites.”
Chief Executive Angus Kinnear added: "We have a fantastic coach, fantastic coaching setup, fantastic squad and we give all the players every reason to stay at Leeds United.”
“And we think we have got enough ambition to match their ambition.
“At the moment, from Raphinha he loves playing for Leeds United. And the only thing he does not love about Leeds United now is there are no fans.
"We have a lot more to see and a lot more to come from him.”
Leeds currently lie 11th on the Premier League table.
