Kabak Bids Emotional Farewell To Liverpool
Ozan Kabak has bid an emotional farewell to Liverpool after his loan spell at Anfield came to an end.
Liverpool procured the services of Kabak from Schalke 04 in the second half of the 2020/2021 season after losing the likes of Virgil Van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez to injury.
Kabak’s deal could have been made permanent at the end of the season but Liverpool have opted to sign Frenchman Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig, leaving the former Galatasaray defender to return to his parent club.
The 21-year-old Turkey defender made 13 appearances for the Reds in his short stay at Anfield, helping Jurgen Klopp’s side secure a top four finish following a difficult start to the season.
In a farewell letter to Liverpool fans, Kabak wrote: "Dear Liverpool family, I would like to thank you for the compassion and support you have shown towards me since the day I arrived.
"I believe the experience I have gathered during my four months stay here has been a very important one.
"I have learnt a lot from my manager Jurgen Klopp and all my team-mates and I was proud to be part of this special family.
"I will always remember my days here at Liverpool with great happiness and the special song which you have kindly gifted me."
Kabak was part of the Turkey squad at EURO 2020 but did not play in any of their group stage games.
