Julio Cesar Backs Inter Milan To Pip AC And Napoli To Serie A Title
Julio Cesar has backed his former club Inter Milan to pip Napoli and AC Milan to the Serie A title.
Inter are firmly back in the title race after results went in their favour over the weekend.
Leaders AC Milan could only manage a goalless draw against Torino while Napoli lost 3-2 at home to Fiorentina.
Inter Milan's 2-0 win over Hellas Verona however took them into second position, two points behind AC Milan, but with a game in hand.
"Since Inter won the title [last season], Juventus' streak has been interrupted," the former Brazil goalkeeper told Stats Perform News.
"When I was at Inter, Juventus was the team to beat. Now, after the title, responsibility always increases.
"Today, the club has a wonderful structure at La Pinetina. I had the opportunity to visit the place. Everything has changed. Having said that, I think that the football played on the pitch makes the difference.
"This championship is very balanced. Inter is in second place behind Milan, the season is still open.
"We have Milan, Inter and Napoli, which are all in contention for the title. There are six games left and Inter have all the possibilities to win the Scudetto. Inter is a strong team, although they had peaks and valleys, but I guess this is normal during a season."
Cesar starred for Inter Milan for seven seasons and was part of the side that won the famous treble of Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League under Jose Mourinho in the 2009/2010 campaign.
