Javier Tebas Wants Mourinho And Ronaldo Back To LaLiga
LaLiga president Javier Tebas wants the return of Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo to the LaLiga after they left the competition for some years.
After a scintillating spell in the LaLiga at Real Madrid, Mourinho departed the Spanish capital to Chelsea as his countryfolk Ronaldo also joined Juventus just last season.
Speaking of the affection their departures brought to the LaLiga, Tebas did not mince words in voicing his desire for the comeback of the Portuguese duo.
"I would like Cristiano Ronaldo to return and to see Mourinho as a coach for a Spanish team. He is a big coach and a big name to promote our league," Tebas said in Portugal.
"I thought that his departure would affect us more, to be honest.
"I prefer the Spanish League with Ronaldo than without him.
"The Premier, for many years, had no winning Golden Ball players and was always the best League in the world. There is a great job to do on several levels.
"The departure of Cristiano did not affect us so much because we signed several contracts and none reported that they would pay us less for their departure," he said in the program 'Everything is football', of 'Channel 11."
Tebas, after hinting of his aspiration for the return of Jose Mourinho and Cristiano Ronaldo to the LaLiga Tebas also added his voice to the expected change of timetable for the Europa League.
"We are totally against it. It has a different format than the Champions League and would make the competition practically closed.
"The format would kill the competition. Economic interests would only serve the biggest clubs, at a time when we are trying to promote competitiveness."
