‘It’s Too Early’- Conte Wants Spurs Fans To Tow Down Their Adulation
Antonio Conte has asked Tottenham Hotspurs fans to tow down on their adulation but wants to repay the faith they have shown in him.
Tottenham defeated Norwich City 3-0 at home in the Premier League on Sunday.
Spurs have made it three wins out of four Premier League games under the former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager to move up to fifth on the standings, with a game in hand.
Goals from Lucas Moura, Davinson Sanchez and Son Heung-Min gave Spurs all three points.
The Spurs fans sung Conte’s name when the win no longer looked in doubt but the Italian, who replaced Nuno Esperito Santo last month, has warned there is still a lot of work to be done.
"I want to say thanks to all the fans that sang my name," he said. "On one hand I'm very happy for this, on the other hand I feel a lot of responsibility to our fans.
"They trust a lot in my work and to listen to my name was good because I have just arrived, only one month I've been here. Maybe it's too much early! But I want to show in the future I deserve this.
"I think the good result helps you but I want to deserve the fans - if they decide to sing my name - for my work, for my total involvement in this club, in this situation."
Spurs will travel to Brighton for their next league outing on Sunday.
