Hazard Backs Pulisic To Glitter At Chelsea
Departed Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard has rallied support behind his successor Christian Pulisic to reach high heights at the club.
After signing a £58 million deal from Borussia Dortmund with the London-based club in January, Pulisic arrived at the Stamford Bridge this summer and has been tipped as the right option to fill the void left by Belgian winger Eden Hazard.
Despite being considered as the solution to Hazard’s departure, the American stalwart previously distanced himself from the comparison between him and the Belgian playmaker, stressing he has arrived as a player on his own.
“I'm not here to compare or anything. Obviously Eden was amazing and he did so well for this club, as you could see last season and the whole time he's been here. He was an incredible player. For me, it's coming in as my own player, proving myself and doing the best I can to help this team.
"Right now it's going on and helping the team whatever way I can. It's just bringing an intensity into the training first of all and earning respect in the beginning. Then I want to make an impact as much as I can on the pitch.
"I think the most important thing is about intensity now in modern football. Frank loves this club and has the identity of this club. All the staff are working with love and passion and they want to give us the best things to perform well inside the pitch."
All told, Hazard is optimistic the former Borussia Dortmund pacey winger could leaved up to expectations in the Chelsea shirt.
"[Pulisic] can be one of the best in the future for sure," Hazard told The Associated Press.
"He can be [a star]. Now he's at one of the best clubs in the world... he's a proper player."
