French Football Federation Hopeful Deschamps Will Remain In Charge After Qatar 2022
French Football Federation president Noel Le Graet hopes Didier Deschamps will choose to remain as France manager after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Deschamps has been in charge of France since 2012 but will see his contract run out after the tournament in Qatar.
The former France international led Les Bleus to the EURO 2016 final but lost to Portugal. He redeemed himself by leading France to World Cup glory in Russia four years ago and Nations League victory last year.
France are once again in the final four of this year's World Cup where they will meet Morocco on Wednesday.
They could become the first side since Brazil in 1962 to defend the World Cup.
Zinedine Zidane has been touted as a possible replacement for Deschamps should he depart but Le Graet is hopeful no managerial alteration will be made at this point.
"We are lucky to have a good coach [Deschamps], good technical staff," Le Graet told L'Equipe.
"The players need to be reassured, we really have a team of high quality managers around them.
"Didier Deschamps has not lost his touch. He exudes happiness, the players too, it shows.
"The question of extending is totally up to him. Finding a coach of this quality is not easy. It is he who decides, I hope he will say yes.
"But it still deserves, especially on his part, a reflection."
