February Premier League Player Of The Month Shortlist Released
A six-man shortlist for the Premier League’s player of the month for February has been released.
The list includes Tottenham striker Harry Kane, Burnley defender Ben Mee, Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha, Liverpool’s Joel Matip, Che Adams of Southampton and Newcastle United’s Ryan Fraser.
Zaha found his scoring boots in February, scoring three goals for Patrick Vieira’s side, including a brace against Watford.
Matip was an ever-present at the back for a Liverpool side who kept three clean sheets in four games and the former Cameroon international added one goal and an assist as well.
Kane saved his best performance for the month against champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, notching two goals in a surprising 3-2 win. The England captain also scored once and assisted another against Leeds United.
Mee helped Burnley keep three clean sheets in six games and also scored a priceless winning goal against Tottenham Hotspurs.
Fraser scored once and assisted another, helping Newcastle to three wins and a draw during the month.
Adams scored three goals for Southampton and assisted another as the Saints went unbeaten in four games in February.
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea won player of the month for January.
Elsewhere, Mikel Arteta, Jurgen Klopp, Eddie Howe and Ralph Hasenhuttl will compete for manager of the month.
