FC Copenhagen manager Stale Solbakken does not expect his side to cause any upset when they come up against Manchester United in the quarterfinals of the Europa League later on Monday.

The Danish side progressed to the last eight of the competition after overcoming Turkish champions Istanbul Basaksehir 3-1 over two legs, and were rewarded with a date with the English giants.

Solbakken, who is in his second spell as Copenhagen boss, famously led the 13-time Danish champions to a 1-0 win over Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United in the group stages of the 2006/2007 UEFA Champions League but the Norwegian is not expecting to repeat the trick this time round.

Manchester United have lost just once in their last 23 games in all competitions, which only highlights the magnanimity of the task at hand for the former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager’s men.

"In order to [beat United] we have to play perfect, we need a bit of luck. We maybe need a United that doesn't fire on all cylinders," Solbakken told a news conference.

"We need to be perfect defensively. We need to take one or two or three chances we get during a game like this. The chances are not great, but it's an advantage for us this is not over 90 minutes but 180 minutes.

"But we have a good feeling after the season we had a week's break and when the players returned from that we were able to get a couple of players ready to play that were vital to us before.

"We have a good feeling after the 3-0 victory, but you should not put your house on us. We'll give everything."
