Di Maria Wants Messi Reunion At PSG
Paris Saint Germain winger Angel Di Maria says he would love to play alongside Lionel Messi in the French capital.
Messi’s contract with Barcelona expires at the end of this season and the six-time Ballon D’or winner is yet to agree terms on a new contract at the Camp Nou.
In fact, Messi unsuccessfully tried to agitate for a move away last year after disagreements with the Barcelona hierarchy.
Paris Saint Germain have been strongly touted as a possible destination for Messi should he decide to cut ties with his boyhood club.
Di Maria has lined up several times alongside Messi for the Argentina national team and the former Real Madrid, Benfica and Manchester United winger says playing alongside his countryman at the Parc des Princes would be a delight.
“From my whole career, from everything I've seen, I think Leo is from another planet. (...) To have him as a team-mate would be wonderful,” Di Maria told BeIn Sports.
“But he is a Barcelona player, he has a contract. After that, we'll see. I talk a lot with him and I always tell him that the important thing is his happiness and that of his family. It's hard to say anything else.”
Messi has scored 23 goals in 26 La Liga games for third placed Barcelona this season.
