Roy Hodgson Unmoved By Zaha Transfer Speculations
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson says he is unmoved by transfer speculations linking star player Wilfried Zaha with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
After enduring an underwhelming 2019/2020 season which saw him score just four Premier League goals in 38 games, Zaha has rediscovered his best form in the current campaign, notching eight times already in the top flight in just 14 outings.
Zaha’s return to form has seen him linked with some big clubs in recent weeks, including Serie A leaders AC Milan and French champions Paris Saint Germain, and with the winter transfer window now opened, those speculations will only continue to swell.
Hodgson is however keeping a cool head and insists he has grown accustomed to the rumors surrounding the 28-year-old Ivory Coast international.
"It's pure speculation. There's been so much speculation regarding Wilf over the years that these days I tend to let those concerns just disappear, as they often do," he told a news conference.
"Wilf's good, there's no doubt about that, it doesn't surprise me that there would be clubs out there that would like to sign him, but a lot of things have to be in place before a player leaves a club and joins a new one.
"I'm just happy at the moment that Wilf is playing as he is, showing the discipline, the concentration, his passion for football and for the club that he's been showing. I just work on the basis that until I'm given a reason otherwise I expect that to keep going."
