Barcelona striker Sergio Aguero has been ruled out of action for three months after suffering the effects of a cardiovascular concern.

Aguero Ruled Out For Three Months After Chest Complaints

Aguero was taken off on the cusp of half-time in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw with Deportivo Alaves at the Camp Nou on Saturday after complaining of chest pains.

The Argentina international was taken straight to hospital after his substitution for observation and it has been decided that he will play no part in Barcelona’s upcoming games for the next three months, starting with Tuesday’s crucial UEFA Champions League clash with Dynamo Kiev in Ukraine.

A statement from the club read: "Sergio Aguero has been subjected to a diagnostic and therapeutic process by Dr.Josep Brugada. He is unavailable for selection and during the next three months the effectiveness of treatment will be evaluated in order to determine his recovery process.

"The Argentine was taken to hospital for cardiological evaluation on Saturday following the Barca v Alaves game in which the Barca striker felt unwell in the first half and was replaced before half time by Philippe Coutinho."

Aguero joined Barcelona in the summer on a free transfer from Manchester City, where he became the club’s all-time top scorer with 260 goals in 390 games during a ten-year spell.

Aguero only recently returned to action after missing 10 weeks with a calf problem at the start of the season, and has scored one goal in five appearances for the club.
