Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has promised wantaway midfielder Paul Pogba of a new challenge at Man United next season.

Pogba, who previously hinted of ‘a new challenge’ elsewhere was angling for a move away from the Old Trafford having been linked with a return to Juventus and Zinedine Zidane’s Real Madrid.

The former Juventus midfielder suffered intense scrutiny from the United faithful of his performances for the side last season.

Despite the continuous criticisms, Pogba had his best season last term at the Theatre of Dreams as he emerged as the highest scored player for the club, scoring 13 goals with nine assists in the Premier League.

And Solskjaer believes he can provide a new challenge for the player in the coming season, stressing he is not disappointed with the World Cup winner’s comment of a new challenge elsewhere.

"I've said many times about Paul that he's a top, top boy and a great player and he's never, ever been a problem.

"When we get him playing as he did when I came in, and if we get him playing like that again, he will win you over as well.

"I've not been upset by anything he's said because we've had many conversations and I know exactly what Paul is thinking. I can give him a new challenge."

The Red Devils are currently on their pre-season tour in Australia as they will face Championship side Leeds United in a friendly in Perth on Wednesday.
